Jolly Phonics Readers Level 2 Our World are fully decodable books for children who are beginning to read. This is the third readers set in the Our World series, which was first introduced in 2020 as part of the Jolly Phonics refresh.

The vocabulary is carefully controlled and designed specifically for students learning to read and write with Jolly Phonics.

These Yellow Level texts (Level 2) use regular words that can be decoded using the 42 letter sounds taught in the first stage of Jolly Phonics, together with the alternative sound of y at the end of words such as happy and sunny. They also include a small number of tricky words: frequently used words that cannot be fully decoded at this stage.

The tricky words and letter sounds used in each book are listed inside the front cover for a short practice activity before reading.

Silent letters, such as the b in lamb, are printed in a lighter type.

Questions to check understanding and topics for discussion appear at the end of each book, so students can explore the meaning of what they have read.
