「ジョリーフォニックス・アワー・ワールド」のノンフィクション・リーダーは、読み始めの子供たちのために作られた、完全にデコード可能な本です。語彙は極めて慎重に選定されており、ジョリーフォニックスを使って読み書きを学んでいる生徒のために特別に設計されています。
 
• これらのグリーンレベル（第3レベル）の本の本文では、これまでに学んだ文字と音の知識（これまでに学習した42の主要な文字の音、および「happy」の「y」のような代替的な文字・音の綴り、さらに「take」「these」「bike」「code」「mule」に見られる長母音の音を表す「飛び越え『e』」の綴り）を用いて構成されており、少数のトリッキーワード（この段階では完全にデコードできないが頻繁に使用される単語）が含まれています。
 
• 登場するすべての新しい「トリッキーワード」および代替母音の綴りは、表紙の内側に記載されています。これらは、本書を読み始める前の簡単な練習課題として活用できます。
 
• 「lamb」の‹b›のように、発音されない文字には薄い文字が使用されています。
 
• 本書の最後には、理解度確認の質問やディスカッションのトピックが掲載されています。これらにより、生徒が単にテキストを読むだけでなく、その意味を理解できるようになります。
 
Jolly Phonics Our World nonfiction readers are fully decodable books for new readers. They have a very carefully controlled vocabulary and are specifically designed for students who are learning to read and write with Jolly Phonics. • The text in these Green Level Books (third level) uses only decodable regular words that use the letter-sound knowledge taught so far (the 42 main letter sounds and the alternative letter-sound spellings ‹y› as in happy and the ‘hop-over ‹e›’spellings of the long vowel sounds as in take, these, bike, code,and mule), and a small number of tricky words (frequently used words that are not fully decodable at this stage).
 
• All new tricky words and alternative vowel spellings used are shown on the front inside cover. These can be used as a quick practice activity before starting the book. • Faint type is used for silent letters, like the ‹b› in lamb.
• Comprehension questions and discussion topics are included at the end of the book.
 
These ensure that students are not only able to read the text, but also get meaning from it.
